As a student in any field at any point in time, one of the most painful things that can happen is to put in tremendous efforts and have little or no efforts to show for the efforts you are putting in. It is very annoying to see yourself go through a lot of stress trying to be the best you can be, and the results are just a bit better than those who don’t even put in any efforts at all.

To be a successful student is beyond just being hardworking (which is key), you have to be a smart student too. Life has been designed in such a way that no matter how much or less effort you put into something, it’s the results that will really matter.

After asking questions from students who are doing well in their various fields, I gathered a few points which I will like to share with you.

You need to know yourself as a student, this will not only help you as a person, it will also help you know where you stand. The pace at which you read and assimilate as a student does not make less you a better student because someone reads and assimilates faster than you do. If you read slowly, then you know you need to create extra time to read.

Some students also cannot read for a long span, they fizzle out as quickly as possible. If they are not under test or exam pressure, they really can’t go for more than an hour, no matter how much efforts they put into concentrating. While some students can go for hours when reading, and their concentration level can stand the test of time.

No matter how fast or slow you read, how fast or slow you assimilate, how far you can go while reading, as long as you know yourself, you can just tweak it to your favor.

It will be very smart of any student to have school friends, friends that will keep front seats for you, friends that you do assignments together, friends that will always push you to do better. Some people are blessed with great love for school and its wahala, these are the kind of people you find and keep as friends in school. So, when the spirit of laziness wants to come upon you, there will be someone to ginger you.

You can’t be an average student and move with people who are average or less than, you will think you are achieving the best already, when you can do better. This is why it is advisable for you to wait till after a semester before you have your clique in class, so you won’t end up with the wrong clique in class.

The major reason you should attend lectures is to know your lecturer, it makes your work a whole lot easier. You will know if your lecturer is the type that likes extensive reading, beyond what he says in class. Or your lecturer is the type that wants nothing more and nothing less to what he has taught in class.

Apart from this, there are somethings that will just stick while in class, so you don’t have to waste so much time reading them later. Also, if you don’t attend classes, how will you know those who know the course well and will save you unnecessary hours of reading if you meet them to put you through?

Even if you will lie to others, always try to be sincere to yourself. You cannot write less than average in an exam and be expecting a more than average score in the results, then you will be disappointed when you see the result that is most likely mirroring what you have written during the exam.

You can also read: IS THERE STILL SPACE FOR ME?

It is better to be surprised than to be disappointed when you see your results. It is truly good to be positive but it is wisdom to be positive with reasoning.

This is really important too, because when God crowns your efforts, it will appear you have worked ten times more than you originally did. God can even connect you to the right people, God can make the reading easier, God can increase the pace of your reading, God can open your eyes of understanding, God can direct you to the right places to read, God can do anything you sincerely ask him as a student, as long as you are right with him, and you involve him.

What are/were your tips as a student? We will really like to know how you survived or how you are still surviving. Thanks for stopping by, don’t forget to like, comment, share, and subscribe.

Hugs and kisses!!!!

Never!!! Plan to depend on a friend in an exam. Ignore the fact that it is an examination malpractice, it does not help!!….from that moment you plan to, you have started failing…although you’ll get the good grades at first but the fact is “WHAT YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW”

Tho its okay to forget stuffs and ask friends for hints(its still exam malpractice sha) but my point is DON’T PLAN TO

Love this… Where should I even start?
    1. Put God first: It’s easy to fail even if you red and wrote well, don’t underestimate the devil.

    2. Don’t disappoint your family: This is one of the reasons many work really hard in school because having it at the back of one’s mind that some people are expecting a good result is intoxicating enough.

    3. Reading is never enough: Don’t be too confident that what you red is sure to come out, you might be surprised. Instead, prefer for the unexpected likewise.

    4. You are alone: As sad as it sounds, you came alone to the University and you will leave alone, you will get your certificate and no matter how many people you want to blame for it, no one will listen to you to hear your story. So make sure you don’t fall into that situation.

The write up is enough to help you know what to do.
    It’s a good one.
